We are looking for an individual to join the Research Information Systems Team to primarily contribute to service delivery and continuous system improvement of the core suite of the University’s research information systems. You'll support research management data reporting services and assist with the development, maintenance, and running of our research reporting environment.
We would be happy to consider any flexible working requests. The role itself will be hybrid, working partly from the office and partly remotely. The Team is currently located in Argyle House, 3 Lady Lawson Street, Edinburgh EH3 9DR.
What the job involves:
- Support and contribute to service delivery and continuous system improvement of research information systems
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the SQL Server reporting environment for research management data
- Monitor key system integrations and resolve any issues
- Working with colleagues across the University’s research community to support research data reporting requirements in line with policies and strategies
- Undertake regular system maintenance tasks and assist with system upgrades
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Degree or equivalent relevant qualification
- Experience with MSSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in IT system support and upgrades
- Experience of using web services to interact with, and exchange date between systems
- Well-developed communication skills to enable the identification, understanding and interpretation of research reporting requirements.
