Power BI Developer

As Power BI Developer at our organization in Leiden you will design, implement and optimize data solutions that empower decision-making across our company. The role integrates expertise in software development, business intelligence, and data integration to deliver seamless data import, processing and visualization. By taking ownership you directly support the commercial and operational goals of our organization.

In your role as Power BI Developer you will be responsible for:

• Data Modelling and Visualization - design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports and visualizations to present complex data in an accessible format. Create interactive and user-friendly visualizations tailored to business needs. Maintain and update existing Power BI reports and dashboards as business needs evolve. Implement role-based access controls to restrict data access based on user roles.
• Collaboration with stakeholders - work closely with business analysts, data engineers and other stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements. Provide actionable insights to stakeholders by analyzing data trends and patterns and guidance to non-technical users on Power BI features and best practices. Create training materials to support end-users in leveraging Power BI solutions effectively.
• Continuous Improvement and Performance Optimization – Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance, ensuring quick load times and responsiveness. Implement efficient DAX queries and measures to improve calculation speed. Monitor Power BI service performance and resolve technical issues promptly. Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and updates to leverage new capabilities. Integrate Power BI with advanced analytics platforms, such as Azure Synapse or AI models.
• Design and maintain data pipelines / warehouses using Fabric, Azure Synapse, and SQL. With a focus on performance monitoring, integration workflows, and model optimization.

This is you!

• You are currently living and working in the Netherlands;
• Bachelor degree in IT, Computer Science or related field;
• 5+ years of experience in a similar position;
• Proficiency in SQL and DAX scripting; (Proficiency in SQL is mandatory)
• Proficiency in Power BI and the Microsoft data ecosystem (Fabrics, Synapse, Data Factory);
• Basic knowledge of Python;
• Affinity with Supply Chain, Logistics and Trade business;
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal;
• Having a DP-600 certification is an advantage.
