You will ensure this platform empowers product teams, data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to innovate with data and AI effectively, responsibly, and at scale. This role treats the data platform itself as a product, focusing on its capabilities, usability, and ability to accelerate data-driven initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the data platform from the perspective of its internal users (product managers, engineers, data scientists, analysts).
  • Gather and prioritize requirements from various internal teams for data platform capabilities, including data ingestion, storage, processing, governance, experimentation tooling, ML model deployment, and data access/querying tools.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Platform Engineering teams to ensure the data platform architecture and development align with product strategy and user needs.
  • Work to improve the usability, reliability, and scalability of the data platform, reducing friction for its users.
  • Champion data governance, data quality, and security best practices within the platform's product strategy.
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and support processes to enable internal teams to effectively leverage the data platform.
  • Define and monitor metrics related to data platform adoption, performance, user satisfaction, and its impact on the velocity of data-driven product development.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between the data platform engineering teams and the various product and analytical teams who consume its services.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a significant focus on data platforms, data infrastructure, analytics platforms, or developer platforms.
  • Strong technical understanding of modern data architectures, big data technologies (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses, streaming data), data governance, and MLOps concepts.
  • Proven ability to understand the needs of technical users (engineers, data scientists) and translate them into a strategic product roadmap for a platform.
  • Experience in driving adoption and measuring the success of internal platforms or services.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams and internal customer teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills / Competencies:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Understanding of agile methodologies for platform development.
  • Ability to advocate for platform investments and articulate their business value.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on enabling other teams' success.
