Job Description

Ares created a new team in 2024 which governs the firm wide investor financial data.  This team works with all Ares Fund Accounting teams, Ares Investor Services and third-party fund admins to help ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness of our investor financial data.  The team will also work with various investor facing functions across Ares, such as IR, RM’s, Strategic Partnerships, and Compliance, to build out new reporting dashboards using the data and also act as a central point of contact for any questions these teams may have on the data. 

  • Expand a dynamic, collaborative cross strategy (credit, private equity, real assets, secondaries, and other business lines) Investor Financial Data Governance team
  • Build and monitor various control dashboards and reports to ensure completeness and accuracy of data; following up internally and externally to resolve issues
  • Act as a central point of contact for all data users for any queries and working with Fund Accounting or third-party fund administrators to resolve issues
  • Work with client facing teams to build requirements for additional reporting needs and work with technology teams to build and test new reports before releasing to client facing teams
  • Collaborate on various projects as an SME where Investor Data is a key input (e.g., Anaplan, AresIQ, Treasury)
  • Identify additional use cases for the data to create efficiencies for downstream teams; ensuring appropriate data checks and controls on data before released to users

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of relevant professional experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Strong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing.
  • High accuracy and detail orientation; confident decision-making skills
  • Experience with fund structures (open and closed ended) and various investor entry points and pass through entities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Fund accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA and/or accounting post-grad/MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and investor reporting needs preferred.
  • PowerBI or other business intelligence tools experience a plus.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$125,000 - $150,000
