Lead Data Scientist (The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Newark, NJ):
Develop machine learning and statistical models that drive significant business outcomes and brings value to business. Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and may impact future concepts, products or technologies. Provide deep technical leadership to a portfolio of high impact data science initiatives. Identify the optimal sets of data, models, training, and testing techniques required for successful product delivery. Remove complex technical impediments. Be a SME in data analysis and model development, testing, training, and tuning. Apply hands-on experience and state of art technique to ensuring best-in-class model development. Mentor team members in technical skill development. Continuously look for insights in models developed and generate new ideas for model improvement. Leverage continuous integration and continuous deployment standard processes, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure AI solutions are aligned with business goals and customer needs.
Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, $154,500.00 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field, and 1 year of related work experience.
Must have 1 year of experience in:
- Python, R and SQL;
- Data Wrangling, which includes preparing data for further analysis, redefining and mapping raw data to generate insights, and processing of large datasets (structured, unstructured);
- Statistics and Computing: Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability, Statistics, Applied Probability, Applied Statistics, Computer Science (Programming Methodologies) and Cloud;
- Model Deployment: MDLC (Model Development Life Cycle), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment/Continuous Testing pipelines (using Jenkins or Bitbucket), A/B testing, Pipeline frameworks (MLFlow or AWS SageMaker pipeline), and model and data versioning; and,
- Statistical techniques such as the use of descriptive, inferential, Bayesian statistics, and time series analysis to extract business insights and experimentation to solve business problems.
