Role Overview

This is a 3-month off-cycle internship opportunity within TP ICAP's Global Broking department, focusing on the comprehensive development of AI-integrated trading tools.

As a Full-Stack Development Intern, you will contribute to both frontend and backend development of applications that integrate AI model training with broker data management systems. This role combines UI/UX design responsibilities with full-stack development, requiring you to create intuitive user interfaces while building robust backend systems that handle real-time financial data. You will work across the entire technology stack, from designing user experiences in Figma to implementing cloud-based infrastructure solutions.

This position offers extensive exposure to modern development practices in financial technology, providing hands-on experience with AI integration, real-time data processing, and enterprise-scale application development.

Role Responsibilities

UI/UX Design & Prototyping

• Design user interfaces using Figma with a focus on usability for financial professionals

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for AI-powered trading tools

• Conduct user testing and iterate on designs based on stakeholder feedback

• Implement real-time data and dynamic web application features using WebSockets and GraphQL subscriptions

Backend Development

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for data communication

• Develop backend architecture supporting data pipelines, AI model training, and real-time inference

• Implement asynchronous data processing using message queues and streaming technologies

Cloud Infrastructure

• Deploy scalable platforms using Pulumi and AWS, integrating containerization, serverless compute, and resource orchestration

• Configure CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring

• Ensure system scalability and performance optimization

AI Integration

• Be a part of the AI team integrating ML & LLMs into user-facing applications

• Implement data preprocessing pipelines optimized for ML & LLM training and inference

• Build innovative interfaces that allow brokers to interact with data in new ways

Experience / Competencies

Technical Foundation

• Experience with front-end frameworks and modern JavaScript (ES6+)

• An eye for UI and thoughtful approaches to UX, with familiarity in creating prototypes using tools like Figma

• Familiar with multiple with languages like Python, TypeScript, and Rust.

• Strong conceptual understanding of web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design frameworks

Integration & Collaboration

• Experience building async, RESTful, and GraphQL API endpoints

• Strong conceptual understanding of SQL and NoSQL systems

• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows

Professional Skills

• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to both technical and user experience details

• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with designers, engineers, and stakeholders

• Self-motivated learner capable of working across multiple technology domains

• Time management skills to balance design, frontend, and backend development tasks

Desired Skills

• Experience with state management tools

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Exposure to AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face)

• Experience with message queues

• Understanding of data security practices and financial compliance requirements

• Familiarity with user testing methodologies and design iteration processes
