MĹ te tĹŤnga / About the rolesÂ
Weâre hiring four Graduate Analysts across three insight-driven teams. Youâll work hands-on with data - building models, writing reports and sharing insights that shape policy and services across Aotearoa.

- Monitoring & Analysis (2 roles):
Produce high-impact reports for Ministers and senior leaders, by analysing and interpreting benefit system data. Youâll manage technical workflows, spot trends and deliver insights that support transparency and better decision-making. - Employment Insights (1 role):
Explore how MSD supports people into mahi by analysing benefit, labour market, and employment programme data. Youâll blend qualitative and quantitative insights to help shape how MSD can support people into work more effectively. - Income & Housing Insights (1 role):
Use your qualitative, quantitative, and analytical skills to contribute to insights that help us to ensure effective Income and Housing Support for those who need it.

MĹu â NgÄ PĹŤkenga me ngÄ Wheako / Skills and experience
Weâre looking for graduates who are curious, motivated and passionate about creating social impact, with a tertiary qualification in economics, statistics, operations research, or a related field. You should have experience (or strong willingness to learn) using econometric or statistical tools like SAS, SQL, R, Python or similar software, plus solid Excel skills for analysing data.
Â
Youâll be confident with manipulating data, generating timely reports and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for operational teams. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write clearly and concisely are essential.
