Job Details:

Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable undergraduate student to join our team as an Undergraduate Research Assistant who will also be a programmer. The role involves assisting with programming data analysis tools and developing cognitive games for use in research studies. Additionally, the individual will play a role in maintaining a website hub that facilitates the scheduling of training for research assistants involved in the project.

Working Conditions:

  • Weekly meetings with Dr.Kim, other programmers, and research assistants on Zoom.
  • Repetitive use of your laptop during the week for programming.
  • Receiving and responding to emails from Dr.Kim and research assistants.
  • Assign a weekly issue to work on for the week, or hot fixes for any issue that occurs in the programs.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the cognitive games that are used within the research studies.
  • Developing and maintaining a website that contains data analysis tools for researchers.
  • Develop any necessary tools that the professor and research assistants need for the research studies.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss the development process
  • Bi-weekly meetings after each cohort for debriefing meetings to receive feedback from participants.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate Computer Science major.
  • Must have completed Operating Systems.
  • Have access to a Mac and/or Windows laptop.
  • Familiarity with Git and source control management.
  • Have experience with Python, JavaScript, and React.
  • Have familiarity with web applications.
  • Familiarity with creating Python environments (conda).
  • Familiarity with sprints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience with web development.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Firebase.
  • Familiarity with Tabby.

Salary Range

$12.00 hourly
