Data Scientist (with Engineering Experience)

Role Overview

• We are seeking a highly skilled and pragmatic Data Scientist with a strong foundation in machine learning, statistical analysis, and a crucial ability to work with knowledge graphs and Large Language Models (LLMs). The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between advanced analytical insights and practical, scalable implementation.

• Key Responsibilities will involve: Data modeling, advanced analytics, recommendation systems, and leveraging AI for enhanced reasoning and data understanding.

Essential Skills & Capabilities:

Core Data Science & Machine Learning:

• Expertise in statistical modeling and a wide range of machine learning algorithms: This includes supervised, unsupervised learning, and particularly recommendation systems.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis, machine learning (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), and data visualization.
• Skilled in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, validation, and evaluation, with a focus on delivering robust and reliable predictions.
• Experience with model clustering and segmentation techniques.

Knowledge Graphs & Graph Analytics:

• Strong understanding of graph data modeling and the ability to leverage graph structures for analytical insights.
• Familiarity with common graph algorithms and their practical application.
• Ability to interact with and extract insights from graph databases (e.g., Neo4j or similar).
• A keen interest in researching and applying novel graph-based technologies and algorithms.

Large Language Models (LLM) & Advanced AI Integration:

• Hands-on experience with integrating and leveraging LLMs for tasks such as reasoning, text analysis, and data mapping.
• Proficient in prompt engineering to effectively guide LLM behavior.
• Ability to design and implement hybrid inference systems that combine LLM outputs with other data sources (e.g., knowledge graphs, statistical models) to fuse confidence and improve predictions.
• Experience with data vectorization techniques (for both text and graph data) and exploring emerging vector/graph-based technologies.

Data Engineering & MLOps Acumen:

• Solid experience with data manipulation and transformation on large datasets, ideally using distributed computing frameworks.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Understanding of MLOps principles: familiar with concepts like model deployment, monitoring, versioning, and ensuring solutions can scale to production.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) for data and ML services.

Research & Problem-Solving Mindset:

• A proven track record of independently researching, evaluating, and applying new technologies and methodologies to solve complex business problems.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an iterative approach to solution development.

Favorable Experience:

• Prior experience in the Adtech industry is a plus.
