Manager, Data Engineering

The Position:

FanDuel Sports Network is looking for an experienced Manager, Data Engineering, to add to our roster. Reporting to the SVP, Data & Analytics, this role will oversee all aspects of Data Engineering, scaling our data for the future and making data a product. 

This position is 100% in the office and based in Southport, CT.

The Game Plan:
(What you will do)

• Build out a capable data engineering team, bringing in the right talent with the right skillsets.
• Oversee the daily operations of the data engineering team to ensure consistent and quality data is maintained through all pipelines.
• Design/build new data systems while optimizing current data systems already in use.
• Develop ETL processes to take in 3rd party data in-house, clean, and maintain the data.
• Utilize advanced Power BI skills to work with data analysts to understand stakeholder requirements and usage of data.
• Manage multiple projects and individuals, ensuring they meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and maintain high standards of service quality.
• Review and document current processes by creating process maps, ERTs, workflows, etc.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to work with both internal and external organizations.
• Communicate regularly with data analysts, data scientists and other members of the data team.

The Stats:
(What to bring)

• Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
• Proven experience in managing teams and leading projects.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and database design.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and other various Microsoft applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong work ethic and flexibility.
