Job Description - Senior Data Analyst

Division / Department: Business Operations/ Data & Analytics

Reports to (position): Director, Corporate FP&A

Level / Grade: Analyst

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt

Work Conditions: Remote Office Environment

Travel: Willing to travel up to 10%of time, as necessary

Minimum Educational Req: Bachelor's degree in any related field (business, science, engineering), or proven work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Years of Experience:5+years of relevant data and/or business analysis work experience

Position Summary:

Our company and our team are experiencing exciting growth, and an opportunity exists for a Senior Data Analyst to partner with the Data Engineering team and the business stakeholders to create business intelligence solutions that deliver insight to aide decision making.

The need for an end lesscuriosity, a love for and the effective use of data and a passion for visual story telling will be key components of our ideal candidate. You will be prepared to partner with the business to drive value from the insights you provide.


Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

• Report design & development – partnering with business departments in building out reports/reporting environments to meet the evolving needs of internal customers (primarily within Microsoft PowerBI)

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets

• Uses data patterns and trends to root cause operational gaps and inefficiency, develop solutions in collaboration with business teams

• Contributes to the evelopment/advancement of the data infrastructure

• Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile, and identify gaps, uncover unmet business needs to suggest for metrics and dashboards

• Where required, pull together raw data from multiple platforms, build appropriate data visualizations in dashboards, and structure analysis with meaningful, relevant insights

• Manage the Data Analytics reporting backlog

Skills Required:

• Hands on development experience building dynamic dashboards using PowerBI, Tableau, Mode Analytics or similar BI tool

• A strong eye and skill for dashboard design and visual storytelling. Highly competent in Microsoft Excel for partnering with stakeholders (Private Equity, Operations, Finance/Accounting)

• Experience in data modeling, particularly with subscription models

• Experience with data warehousing using Redshift, Snowflake, or other similar OLAP warehouse solution

• Experience with data/query languages (SQL, DAX, Power Query)and a general-purpose programming language like Python

• Ability to work on concurrent projects and meet time sensitive reporting dates

• Strong problem-solving skills and an intellectual curiosity toward existing processes and possible improvements


• A business background

• Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization

Nice to have:

• Experience automating workflows with Power Automate

• Experience with AWS Glue/Data Brew (cleansing and transforming data sets) preferred

• Some experience applying open-source machine learning models for ad-hoc analysis and prediction preferred

This position will not supervise the work of others

Internal and external interaction:

This position interacts with peers both in and out of the department and their immediate manager on a regular basis. They may interact with customers and vendors directly in escalation or support situations in a large geographical area. They will interact with managers in other departments
