Cartes de crédit, prêts, hypothèque, assurances, épargne et placements.As a senior advisor, data governance specialist, you facilitate the integration of data governance across Desjardins Group’s various processes. You implement data management processes and capabilities that enable optimal and secure use of data to benefit members and clients, in accordance with compliance, privacy and ethics regulations and confidentiality and security policies. You help teams recognize and manage data as a strategic asset. You make recommendations on data use and compliance with applicable data governance documents for strategic, innovative cross-sector projects that have a major impact on the organization’s priorities. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your line of work. You play an advisory role and act as a content expert for multiple contributors in a wide range of fields. You also advise decision-making committees on strategic directions and business positions. More specifically, you will be required to:
Lead the development and implementation of practices and mechanisms to ensure compliance with the governance documents that apply to data
Define, develop, operationalize and improve standards, processes, tools and best practices related to data governance foundations
Coordinate, monitor, measure and communicate about the performance of the standards and the practices in place, including changes in data governance maturity
Provide strategic support to data producers and users to help them understand how to valorize data, in keeping with sound data governance
Serve as a specialist advisor to decision-making bodies on developing and applying data management processes and controls
Help the sector’s decision-making bodies analyze risks and potential gaps between what is set out in the governance documents and their operational practices
Lead innovative, cross-sector projects related to the development of data governance.

What you bring to the table
Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Experience in data governance
Experience in analyzing a business’s data needs and implementing appropriate solutions
Experience in an advisory role
Experience in managing strategic initiatives
Experience in explaining information in clear and simple terms to work with multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of French is required
Knowledge of data and analytical environments
Extensive knowledge of data management concepts, market standards (DCAM), and privacy and information security regulations
