Reimagine enterprise data- and content operations at massive scale! As the Principal Data and AI Engineer at Flexera, you will bring technical innovation and sophistication to a talented team responsible for ingestion, curation, and organization of the world's IT assets. Your mission is to turn vast amounts of semi-structured data into trusted insights that empower customers to manage and optimize their IT landscape, which include hardware, software, SaaS, cloud, containers, AI services and more.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Ownership

  • Define and evolve the long-term strategy for content and data operations at scale. Balance the realities of now with an ambitious roadmap to the future
  • Drive automation of data normalization, enrichment, and quality assurance. Push boundaries of AI/ML augmentation and Agentic AI
  • Guide roadmap development by aligning technical direction with business priorities

Technical Leadership

  • Design, optimize, and govern modern large-scale data architectures
  • Drive system architecture across application, infrastructure, and ecosystem layers
  • Apply advanced performance tuning, database optimization, and domain-driven design principles

Engineering Partnership

  • Collaborate with and mentor engineers on system architecture, CI/CD workflows, and API integrations etc.
  • Provide technical oversight in areas like data modeling, system scaling, availability and reliability
  • For architecturally complex projects, step in as a hands-on team multiplier to unblock the team and drive execution

Operational Excellence

  • Champion data quality, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness as foundational metrics
  • Provide oversight in areas like security and operational cost

We believe that the following experience is relevant

  • Experience in large-scale data/content operations and platform engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server. Database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Transact-SQL (T-SQL), C#, REST APIs etc.
  • Familiarity with Data Lakehouse architectures, specifically Databricks
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, domain modeling, and system design in a distributed environment
  • Solid experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with workflow optimizations through process, tooling and automation, including AI augmentation and Agentic AI
  • Experience in IT Asset Management, FinOps, or vulnerability intelligence domains is a plus
