The pharmaceutical company EG is a Belgian company and leader of generic medicines in Belgium. Today, the company counts 190 collaborators. EG is part of STADA Group and consists of 3 divisions: EG Generics, Consumer Care & Specialty Care. With over 30 years of experience, EG is the indisputable market leader of generic medicines in Belgium. The EG Generics portfolio contains almost 700 medicines (mostly prescription medicines) destined for the treatment of health problems in almost every therapeutic domain. The EG team also offers continuous practical support to doctors and specialists for a responsible and affordable patient care. EG Consumer Care creates innovative brands of nutritional supplements, medical aids and medicines that are available in pharmacies without prescription (OTC). We emphasize ‘evidence-based nutraceuticals’: nutritional supplements that are scientifically tested and who help you sustain your health. EG Specialty Care also offers very specialized prescription medicines – mainly to hospitals and psychiatric institutions. About the department Business Intelligence

The Business Intelligence Department transforms data into actionable insights in order to support EG on strategic and tactical business decision making. As a newly created department we started a journey, changing the way EG handles its data. We want to bring information together like never before. About your role

Are you a data enthusiast specialized in SQL, ETL, datawarehousing, data modelling, analytics and data visualization?
Are you eager to show us how to get immediate insights and value out of our data by building proof of concepts and applications with state-of-the-art technology?
Do you love to experiment with different technologies and figure out the best way to help us in our digital transformation?
Then you are the data engineer we are looking for! Creating and implementing data solutions is your responsibility.

Responsibilities

In order to realize the above, you will

• work on the end-to-end pipeline: data exploration, data ingestion, processing, analytics and visualization. You design, build, deploy, test and maintain analytics pipelines. Developing the necessary code to get and process the data is part of this.
• take full ownership of the data solutions you implement autonomously.
• work closely together with colleagues from all other departments within EG: Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, … You translate their business needs into technical solutions and front-end tools they can use. 
• transform data into insightful and visually attractive reports and dashboards
• strive continuously to reduce manual or repetitive efforts through data innovation & automation
• safeguard data quality

Required profile

• Master in computer science, informatics or equivalent by experience
• Hands-on experience with maintenance of SQL-servers, datawarehousing on cloud platforms like Azure and Snowflake
• Confident in modelling (star schema) complex data structures & adapting cloud architecture towards the needs of the future
• Knowledge of common BI & cloud tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Key Vault, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure DevOps, PowerBI, etc.
• You write efficient sql and are capable of incorporating this into and existing ELT solution
• Capable of ingesting data in multiple formats: databases, API’s, Sharepoint, json & manual files (csv/Excel)
• Experience in combining multiple divided systems to create 1 source of truth for the entire organization
• Knowledgeable on the ins and outs of master data systems
• You are able to efficiently structure data flows such that multiple solutions (reporting, exports, CRM systems, …) have their required data on time
• Automated testing of incoming data & master data quality has no secrets for you
• Databricks and airflow are nice to haves
• Experience with handling data from SAP or MS Dynamics 365 is an advantage.
• You are able to set priorities depending on business value
• You have ideas and can turn them into something real. You have the attitude to make things happen.
• You're open-minded, collaborative, team player, ready to adapt to the changing needs. You’re curious about new techniques and tools, and eager to always keep learning.
• You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
