Job Posting: Decision Scientist, Clinical Analytics, CorHealth (ED, Cardiac, Stroke, Vascular)

Overview: The Decision Scientist, Clinical Analytics, CorHealth will be a critical member of the CorHealth Analytics and Reporting team. This role is primarily responsible for leading the design and implementation of data analyses to evaluate health care processes, patient outcomes, population health, and value-based health system costs 

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data analyses to evaluate health care processes, patient outcomes, population health, and value-based health system costs

  • Manage all aspects of data analysis including developing analytic plans, assisting with data collection, manipulating and extracting data, producing reports, developing and implementing advanced models and algorithms, performing complex statistical analyses, and creating documentation

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend methods, models, and algorithms for each project

  • Produce materials for critical stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health, provincial organizations, regional and local clinical groups, and health system leaders

  • Interpret, synthesize, and present findings for internal and external stakeholders

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Provide technical and analytical advice to colleagues for creating meaningful information from clinical and administrative databases 

  • Lead the development of innovative new data and analytics products and solutions

Here is what you will need to be successful:  

Education and Experience

  • A master’s or PhD degree in a health system related field, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or similar level of education and experience within the key areas of accountability 

  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience analyzing large data sets using tools such as SAS, R, Python, and Excel 

  • Extensive experience linking and managing large datasets, conducting clinical, financial and population-based analyses

  • Extensive experience with Ontario’s healthcare data sets, including DAD, NACRS, NRS, CCRS, OHIP, clinical registries, RPDB

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of different statistical methods and their different use cases in a healthcare analytics environment

  • Strong understanding of the healthcare sector and experience in a healthcare system environment

  • Personal drive and a strong ability to self-manage

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • Strong critical thinking skills and an eye for detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
