Socio-Economic Data Analyst

At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a professional Socio-Economic Data Analyst to join our UniQue Brussels team, with the overall objective to produce and analyse highly granular datasets, apply existing methodologies, and develop new ones — including the underlying algorithms. The main focus will be on analysing sustainable development, innovation, entrepreneurship, business dynamics, and other relevant demographic, economic, and labour market trends at subnational level in urban and rural areas across the EU.

What will you be bringing to the team?

• Production of territorial and sectoral indicators, as well as statistical and econometric analyses;
• Analysis of urban versus rural socio-economic development, including relevant demographic, economic, and labour market trends;
• Contribution to data dissemination via the Rural Observatory, Startup Village Forum platform, Territorial Data Platform, or other urban/rural platforms;
• Contribution to the reporting and dissemination of results.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree

More than 3 years’ experience with statistical tools such as R, STATA, etc.

At least 3 years’ experience conducting territorial/regional analyses

Experience with geo-localized and firm-level data for applied economic analysis and regional/territorial studies;

Solid programming skills and proficiency in relevant data science software (e.g. R, Stata, etc);

• Ability to apply high quality standards;

• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies;

• Analysis and problem-solving skills;

• Good knowledge of regional studies/economics and/or the economics of innovation;

• Good knowledge of English
