About The Role
Data Scientist I applies advanced data science methodologies to support statistical programming and biostatistics. Data Scientist I accelerate business outcomes through the application of programs/workflows development, AI/machine learning, statistical methodologies, or unstructured data analysis techniques to uncover insights and ultimately drive automation to create āintelligence at scaleā.
What Youāll Do Here
Adhere to departmental and organizational SOPs, policies, and regulatory standards; contribute to documentation updates and process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with statistical programming and biostatistics teams to support the development and deployment of AI/ML models, with a focus on Generative and Agentic AI applications.
Assist in building automation workflows and data pipelines to optimize operational efficiency.
Leverage APIs to connect with internal and external data services, enabling real-time data retrieval, model execution, and reporting.
Assist in developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to support data analysis workflows and interactive tools.
Contributes to the development of reproducible programming activities, including use of Git-based workflows, automated testing, and documentation standards.
Participate in transitioning infrastructure from on-premises to cloud-based environments across clinical trials and regulatory processes.
Assist in developing metadata repositories to improve data governance and reusability.
Interpret and apply regulatory guidelines (e.g., CDISC, FDA) to ensure AI/ML solutions are compliant and submission ready.
Support the development of training materials and tools for AI literacy across statistical programming and biostatistics teams.
Collaborate on internal initiatives to promote AI and data science adoption in biostatistics and statistical programming teams.
Document model development, assumptions, and evaluations clearly to support reproducibility and audit-readiness.
Participate in the development of open-source language training programs for statistical programmers and biostatisticians.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support department goals.
What Youāll Need to Succeed
Masterās degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field required. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field is preferred. Experience as a statistical programmer or data analyst within a clinical research setting may also be considered.
Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, C++, and SAS, or any combination of these languages.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript is preferred.
Knowledge of advanced Python libraries is preferred.
Knowledge of creating and managing containerized applications is preferred. (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
Experience with Microsoft Ecosystem is preferred (365, Power Platform, Fabric, Azure)
Knowledge of data notebooks is preferred (e.g. Jupyter Notebook or similar).
Knowledge of data visualization tools is preferred (e.g., Tableau, Power BI or similar)
Experience developing AI/ML solutions and using statistical modeling techniques in a business context with proven benefits is preferred.
Experience with version control tools is preferred (e.g. Git or similar).
Proficiency in English is required, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate in a professional and technical environment.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences.
Experience in client-facing roles and a passion for driving business impact through data.
Ability to identify innovative solutions.
Flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and data type.
Proven history of mentorship and continuous improvement.
Proactive self-learner who demonstrates the ability to independently acquire new skills

What We OfferĀ Ā
The pay range estimated for this position is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
