About the workplace

This is an 8-month contract role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.

As a Senior Product Analyst in the Small Business and Commercial Product team, you’ll play a critical role in the development and execution of product strategies to improve the member experience and support Vancity to be a financial force for change. You will partner closely will Product Managers, Engineers and Business Stakeholders to define and measure success, identify growth opportunities and drive continuous product improvement.

You’ll be part of every stage in the product lifecycle from ideation and research, through to development, launch and beyond. You’ll be critical in maintaining product competitiveness in market and ensuring members and staff have what they need to choose and use Vancity products and services.

In this role, you’ll report directly into Senior Manager of Business and Commercial Product.

A typical day would involve:

  • Building a deep understanding of our products, member needs, strategic goals, and the market environment.
  • Leverage large and complex datasets to uncover patterns, build dashboards, and tell compelling stories with data.
  • Be a thought partner to Product Managers and cross-functional teams, helping define product strategy through data.
  • Raise the bar for analytical excellence across the product team.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to evaluate member needs, assess the competitive environment, and monitor product offers and pricing.
  • Conducting regular competitive analysis to inform pricing recommendations and execute on recommended pricing changes to ensure product competitiveness.
  • Analyzing data and insights to identify opportunities, risks, problems, to inform product development, and the ongoing sustainment and growth of the portfolio.
  • Monitoring and reporting on product performance, providing recommendations taking into consideration member experience, organizational value, feasibility, and risk.
  • Defining and reviewing new and existing product content on member and staff channels to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Member Experience, Legal, Risk and Compliance teams to update as required.
  • Collaborating with IT and Business stakeholders across the organization to ensure products and features are successfully launched and relevant updates are made to systems, processes, policies, and communications.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Must have deep knowledge of relational databases and advanced SQL data extraction and manipulation tools.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent PowerPoint presentation and Excel skills.
  • Financial services/Banking industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience in a product management role is an asset.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience analyzing feedback, data, and insights to identify problems and opportunities.

The salary range for this role is $64,500 to $90,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
