- Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of everyone in Suffolk and North East Essex living through the power of advanced analytics?
- Would you like to work in an incredibly varied, challenging and rewarding role as part of an innovative analytical team?
The Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) Integrated Care System (ICS) has a diverse and talented analytical community, modern data and analytics technology, and engaged stakeholders. A key part of this analytical community is the new SNEE Intelligence Function. This is an analytical collaborative, with representatives from organisations across health and care organisations who work together to provide actionable insights from data that links information on health, care and the wider determinants of health. Suffolk County Council is hosting the ‘hub’ team of Intelligence Function analysts on behalf of the SNEE ICS and is working with ICS partners to use new data and insights to support the improvement of health outcomes and the reduction of health inequalities.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Data Analyst in the SNEE ICS Intelligence Function, you will be at the forefront of evolving our ongoing data and analytics response. You will manage discrete analytical projects, working with analytical teams in system partners to deliver ‘deep dives’ into matters of strategic and / or operational interest around integrated care.
This will include analysis on the drivers of need and demand for a breadth of healthcare services, insights into the causes and magnitude of health inequalities, and opportunities to address future demand and capacity challenges. You will lead a specific programme of cancer analytics commissioned by the SNEE Integrated Care Board (ICB) to improve understanding of the factors that drive early diagnosis rates.
You will use your technical skills and expertise (which are likely to include advanced knowledge of statistics and data visualisation, using tools such as R, MS Power BI and SQL or similar) to evolve our existing intelligence products and develop new ones.
You will need
The job holder will have experience and technical expertise in advanced analytical techniques, including advanced statistical modelling and/or machine learning approaches for predictive analytics. They will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of statistics and will have experience cleaning, merging and analysing large datasets. They will be motivated by solving problems through analysis and will be able to apply their experience to the SNEE ICS. They will also play a significant role in our work to realise the full potential of population health management data.
You can view a full list of requirements in the JJob and Person Profile (JPP) (docx). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.
We will offer you
- An innovative opportunity to deploy your data analysis skills to improve the health, care and wellbeing outcomes of the SNEE population, and in particular to improve the lives of the most disadvantaged in our communities.
- You will have opportunity for significant learning, both in relation to technical skills but also the skills of navigating complex and dynamic health and care systems and organisations.
- Your future career opportunities will be enhanced both by the analytics products you will develop and deliver, but also by the leadership and influencing opportunities this post offers.
