NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company.” We're looking to grow our company, and build our teams with the smartest people in the world. Join us at the forefront of technological advancement!

At NVIDIA we are delivering one of the fundamental technologies for the autonomous software stack and beyond. We are looking for hardworking software engineers to work on data collection, data analysis, map creation and map consumption software components on NVIDIA’s current and upcoming driving/robotics platforms and backend processing systems.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building software for autonomous mobile platforms, and backend data processing pipelines to do the following:

  • Creating software to efficiently access and visualize 2D Navigational Map, 2D aerial images, or 3D semantic HDMaps to create enriched 2D/3D maps for training data of autonomous vehicle perception model training, and in-vehicle driving stack.

  • Provide real-time and off-line data analysis tools of autonomous vehicle sensor data (e.g. lidar/camera/radar) to ensure sensor data integrity before map creation and map consumption.

  • Analyze the spatial and temporal properties of ground truth location and other vehicle sensor data to ensure successful map creation.

  • Building tools to efficiently store and upload large amounts of sensor and 3rd party map data for map creation, or update.

What we need to see:

  • 5+ years of working experience.

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Fluent in C/C++, familiar with Python is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of computer architecture, operating systems, computer networking principles and multi-threaded/multi-process programming

  • Understanding of how to write performant software (with efficient memory/cpu/gpu/inter-processor-network utilization)

  • Well versed in algorithms (e.g. graph theory, combinatorial & discrete algorithms), data structures and basic statistics.

  • Ability to drive a project from conception to completion and deliver to internal or external customers.

  • Experience in using a disciplined approach to software engineering (requirements analysis, design doc, unit testing and integration testing and benchmarking) to drive development of scalable software products.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Background with computer vision, computational geometry, robotics, and machine learning algorithms.

  • Experience with state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle or robotics sensors (e.g. camera, lidar, radar, GPS)

  • Background with runtime optimization on Linux/Unix-like real-time operation systems; Experience with edge computing platforms (e.g. automotive)

  • Experience in data analysis and visualization in Python or other Javascript libraries, or etc, is a plus

Are you dedicated, upbeat and dynamic with excellent analytical ability? If you are an engineer passionate and highly motivated about solving complex problems, you may be a perfect fit for NVIDIA!

The base salary range is 148,000 USD - 287,500 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.

NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and proud to be an equal opportunity employer. As we highly value diversity in our current and future employees, we do not discriminate (including in our hiring and promotion practices) on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.
