Technical Solutions ManagerWe create and deliver an aligned, dedicated marketing strategy to fuel each Expedia Group brand's success. Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates (SPA) is a flourishing business, with bold growth ambitions, within the Expedia Group consumer business. We are uniquely positioned at the intersection of B2B and B2C marketing, with a growing portfolio of products that support thousands of affiliate partners, businesses, and people, to become successful travel entrepreneurs.

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Solutions Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for both incident management and technical operations, with a particular focus on designing and deploying advanced automated solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient functioning of the SPA team, while also leading initiatives that drive continuous operational improvement through innovative automation.
The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with a passion for automation and a proven track record of delivering innovative technical solutions. They will be able to balance the immediate needs of incident management with the long-term goals of building automated process and workflows. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our SPA business by enhancing operational excellence and accelerating future-focused initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Incident Management (50%)
Act as the primary point of contact for all SPA-related incidents and escalations
Develop, implement, and maintain a robust incident management framework
Lead incident triage, assessing severity and impact to prioritize response efforts
Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective incident resolution
Conduct thorough root cause analyses for major incidents and implement preventive measures
Create and maintain detailed incident reports and dashboards for stakeholders
Track KPIs related to incident response and resolution times
Technical Operations & Automation (50%)
Design, develop, and deploy automated end-to-end technical solutions to increase operational efficiency
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in operations
Build and maintain automated scripts and tools for routine and complex tasks
Document all automated processes and systems thoroughly
Lead modernization projects to upgrade existing systems and introduce innovative automation solutions
Additional Responsibilities
Mentor and guide junior team members on incident management and automation best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into technical requirements
Design and build end-to-end technical solutions that align with business goals
Represent the technical solutions team in cross-functional meetings and strategic initiatives
Experience and qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in technical solutions, operations management, or a similar role
Intermediate SQL knowledge for query creation and data extraction.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
Proven ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms or GenAI-assisted development environments
Familiarity with AI-powered development tools. (e.g., Amazon Q Business/Developer, GitHub Copilot)
Experience integrating external APIs and services (such as Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Twilio) to enhance automation capabilities and extend system functionality
Solid understanding of cloud-native development principles and practical experience leveraging cloud platform solutions
Proficiency with source control systems and version management practices
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of resolving complex technical issues
Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain intricate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts for predictive analytics and automation.
The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $128,000 to $179,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $205,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $116,500.00 to $163,000.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $186,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
