About the Job
Are you ready to shape the future of medicine? The race is on to speed up drug discovery and development to find answers for patients and their families. Your skills could be critical in helping our teams accelerate progress.
The Quantitative Pharmacology Department is an integral part of the Translational Medicine Unit at Sanofi. We employ a model-based drug development approach to facilitate informed decision-making and accelerate drug development programs across all stages, from early discovery through late-stage development.
We are currently seeking a Co-op/Intern for the year 2026. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience in clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics, including exposure to the principles and practices of model-based drug development within a pharmaceutical R&D environment.
The selected candidate will work closely with our team to develop and apply quantitative mathematical and statistical models and simulations, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative capabilities, standards, and methodologies. The intern will also support various clinical development activities, which may include conducting literature reviews and exploring advanced quantitative methodologies within the modeling and simulation framework.
We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. We’re also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Experience with relevant ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or DiffEqFlux.jl for neural ODEs). The ability to interpret model results within a clinical or biological context is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are required.
A strong academic foundation in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacometrics, computational biology, or biomedical engineering.
Competence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) particularly in applications related to drug development and pharmacometrics. This includes experience with:
Integration of ML workflows with PK/PD modeling, simulation, and decision support systems.
Application of class of neural ordinary differential equations algorithms , which combine deep learning with dynamic systems modeling to learn continuous-time pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic processes directly from data.
Deep learning for time-series data or mechanistic model approximation.
Bayesian machine learning for parameter estimation and uncertainty quantification.
