Position Description
In ESB’s Strategy there is a key focus on ESB becoming a more data driven company. The successful candidate will operate as a Team Lead of the ESB Customer Solutions Analytics team and work closely with our customer facing business units, to identify critical business problems, understand the data requirements and help to translate them into robust technical solutions.
The applicant will lead the team in a range of solutions using technologies like SAP Business Warehouse, Hadoop, Azure Data Lake and SQL Server.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of data analysts to provide solutions to the business across a range of business units. Providing thought leadership on how best to analyse, identify and create solutions using data.
- Data analysis, working with the wider analytics and IT teams to gather relevant information and build data pipelines, Implement data quality controls and checks on all solutions
- Creating meaningful visualisations, working with key stakeholders in the business to determine analytical requirements and design solutions to inform decision making such as; Customer segmentation, Trend analysis, Predictive analytics and Insights and analysis into large datasets
- Work closely with key stakeholders across the business including Electric Ireland, Smart Energy Services, Telecoms and ESB E-cars
- Work across functional areas such as Operations, Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Customer Service, Finance and Pricing to determine requirements, design solutions and develop business metrics / reporting solutions
- Lead self-serve reporting for various business units by identifying data sources and coaching business users on how best to access and analyse it Responding rapidly to business needs by providing ad-hoc analysis, support, and recommendations
- Data modelling for large scale customer behaviour models, campaigns, analysis etc.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- A third level qualification in Computer Science / Statistics / Maths / Data Analytics or equivalent work experience
- Experience in designing and developing data visualisations in Power BI
- Solid Experience using SQL
- Experience in managing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets
- Demonstratable stakeholder management, communication, organisation and reporting skills
- Problem solver with quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to logical thinker in gathering data, analysing, collating and present results in a concise, creative, and professional manner
Desirable
- Postgraduate in Data Science / Data Analytics / Maths / Computer Science or similar
- Team lead experience
- Data Science experience
- Knowledge of SAP BO / BW / 4/Hana
- Experience using R, SPSS, Python, Power Shell
- Agile project management / Scrum Master
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps
Location
This position will be based in Swift Square Santry

All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary
€57,950 - €68,170 per annum (depending on experience)
