What you’ll do:

 

Position title: SAP iXp Intern - BTP AI Developer

Location: Hybrid - Pittsbrugh 

Expected start date: August 2025

Duration: 6- 12 months

Working hours: Full-time (40 hrs./week)

 

As an AI Developer intern, you will play a key role in building innovative AI-powered applications to solve complex business challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing AI-powered applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Agent-to-Agent (A2A) protocol
• Development, testing, performance, security, and user experience of AI applications from prototyping to production
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into existing applications and workflows

 

The Role & Responsibilities:

 

We are looking for a hands-on developer to join as an intern contributing to shaping the strategy and scope of SAP’s Business Technology Platform AI capabilities. 

SAP's Business Technology Platform is shaping the future of enterprise software and is a key enabler for the transformation we’re on together with our customers. It is creating the ability to extend and personalize SAP applications, integrate, and connect entire landscapes, and empower business users to integrate processes and experiences. 

Become part of a multi-disciplinary team that focuses on execution and shaping the future of GenAI capabilities across our Business Technology Platform. 

This role requires a self-directed team player with deep technical knowledge and business acumen

 

 

What you bring:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You enjoy working on meaningful and innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

 

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master's in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor’s, master’s or JD/PhD program.

Must have skills

• Excellent programming skills in Python
• Experience with developing AI-powered applications

Nice to have skills

• Machine Learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Lifecycle management for AI models (training, validation, deployment, and monitoring)
• Large Language Models (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, LLaMA)
• Agentic AI concepts and protocols (Model Context Protocol, Agent-to-Agent protocol)

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 15-62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
