Staff Software Engineer - Healthcare - Seattle 

Why We Have This Role

As the Healthcare domain architect, you will be responsible for architectural considerations within the Healthcare domain. You will be responsible for maintaining the Healthcare data model, contracts between the Healthcare domain and other adjacent domains within Qualtrics.

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Healthcare team, you would apply your distributed-systems knowledge, familiarity with full-stack development, databases, various storage-engines, and web-services design and implementation to build premier software and services. Your responsibilities will be across the portfolio of Healthcare products:

  1. Healthcare Regulatory products require attention to detail. Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services guidelines and Qualtrics products are often orthogonal to each other. A large part of this role is about working cross-team to drive consensus across often conflicting priorities. 
  2. Healthcare specific products such as Magnet, Rounding that require a solid understanding of the Healthcare industry and the functioning of these institutions
  3. Partner-interfacing products with Epic, Vizient and other Healthcare domain partners where you will work with partners on contracts of data exchange, scale and cross-product use scenarios.

Healthcare products built on top of Qualtrics platform and a solid understanding of the platform is a requirement. Qualtrics is set to disrupt traditional Healthcare through Patient Experience products.

How You’ll Grow

  • Master the ability to design and build scalable, fast, and robust SaaS solutions.
  • Achieve proficiency in containerization and full-stack development methodologies.
  • Learn to implement innovative functionality from provided requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other developers, support engineers and product managers to accelerate product development.
  • Gain experience in Agile methodologies by engaging in daily stand-ups and prioritizing work to deliver value to our customers efficiently.

Things You’ll Do 

  • Design distributed, low-latency services to ingest, process, and aggregate data.
  • Build integrations with major Electronic Medial Records systems and other Healthcare domain partners
  • Create advanced analytics that identify trends and sentiments in free-form text data through natural language processing and machine learning techniques.
  • Develop widgets for clear data visualizations in dashboards and reports.
  • Architect and deliver innovative full-stack solutions to effectively meet customer needs.
  • Build and maintain the Healthcare data model and represent the Healthcare domain across the company.

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in software engineering roles, with a focus on software design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, PHP, Scala).
  • Experience with web-related technologies such as HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, including Angular or Node.js.
  • Strong knowledge of database/data storage technologies (SQL/MySQL).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • 8+ years working in a full-stack engineering position (preferably for a SaaS company)

Our SaaS platform is used to help some of the largest organizations in the world drive action with pre-built experience management (XM) programs and projects that anyone can use. Our partners are utilizing our platform to drive some of the most innovative Patient, Consumer and Employee experiences across the healthcare industry.

Some of the things you would work on in this team are:

  • Connecting patient experience data to electronic healthcare records, regulatory healthcare survey programs and Magnet reporting.

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and other benefits, based on eligibility criteria.
