Job Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for leading initiatives to automate manual processes and deliver data-driven insights for the Production Services team and stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate will proactively identify and implement innovative methods for data retrieval, visualization, and analysis, while also maintaining existing analytical tools. Responsibilities include generating production volume reports using multiple platforms. This position works under general supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Discovers and troubleshoots data issues across sources and drives issues to resolution.

  • Creates complex datasets, visualizations and tools.

  • Implements automated solutions to streamline manual team processes.

  • Uses SQL to retrieve data from systems and create integrated datasets.

  • Updates data within systems and creates data tables and views.

  • Proactively profiles data across sources to identify issues and work with stakeholders to remedy

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • Comprehensive skills with data & analytics applications.

  • Self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team or individually.

  • Understands or can learn the data models of Continental’s primary data sources including Aries, WellView, ProCount, SAP, Planning Analytics, eGIS, WLM, Horizon, and IHS.

  • Understand data modeling and data integration principles and techniques.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and synthesize large amounts of data to generate high-quality, executive-level quality presentations in an efficient manner.

  • Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling and data integration principles and techniques.

  • Comprehensive programming skills capable of retrieving data using advanced techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years experience within the Oil and Gas industry working as a Data Analyst, Production Analyst, Engineering Tech, Engineering Specialist, Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Analyst or related role.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills within SQL.

  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Information Science/Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting or related degree.

  • Basic to intermediate skills developing automated workflows using UiPath.

  • Experience in production accounting.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
