Job Description:
As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst with 7-8 years of experience, you will be a pivotal leader within our consulting practice, responsible for architecting and delivering sophisticated BI and analytics solutions that address our clients' most pressing strategic challenges. You will leverage your deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills to manage projects, mentor junior analysts, and act as a trusted advisor to senior client executives. This role demands a strategic thinker who can translate complex data into actionable, high-impact business strategies and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Strategic Client Leadership & Engagement:
  • Lead complex client engagements, acting as the primary BI point of contact and trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Define and scope BI initiatives, develop strategic roadmaps, and ensure alignment with clients' overarching business objectives.
  • Drive strategic discussions to uncover and define ambiguous business requirements, translating them into robust BI strategies and technical specifications.
• Advanced Analytics & Solution Architecture:
  • Architect, design, and oversee the implementation of enterprise-scale BI solutions, including advanced dashboards, complex reporting systems, and analytical applications.
  • Oversee and perform advanced data analysis, architect complex data models (e.g., dimensional, relational), and ensure the highest standards of data integrity and governance for enterprise-scale BI solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on BI best practices, emerging technologies, data governance, and advanced analytical methodologies.
• Project & Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex BI projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of solutions.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior BI analysts, fostering their technical, consulting, and analytical skills. May directly manage project teams.
  • Drive innovation in BI practices within the firm, contributing to the development of new methodologies, tools, and service offerings.
• Insight Delivery & Strategic Advisory:
  • Synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives and actionable insights that drive significant business value and strategic decision-making for clients.
  • Deliver impactful, C-suite level presentations on data insights, strategic recommendations, and the business implications of analytical findings.
• Quality Assurance & Governance:
  • Establish, implement, and enforce BI governance frameworks, data quality standards, and best practices across client projects and within the firm.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and adhere to industry best practices and client compliance requirements.

Mandatory technical skills

• BI Platforms: Expert-level proficiency in one or more leading BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Looker), including advanced features, administration, performance optimization, and solution architecture.
• SQL: Expert SQL skills for complex data querying, manipulation, advanced analytical functions, stored procedures, and performance tuning across various relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata).
• Data Modeling & Warehousing: Advanced data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, ER modeling, data warehousing design, OLAP cubes) and extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise data models and data warehouses.
• ETL/ELT Processes & Tools: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with data warehousing architecture, ETL/ELT processes, and enterprise-grade ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Matillion).
• Cloud Platforms: Significant experience with cloud-based data services (data lakes, data warehouses, BI tools) and BI deployments on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in BI and data analysis (e.g., Python, R) for automation, advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and data manipulation.
• Data Governance & Quality: Strong understanding and experience in implementing data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and master data management concepts.

• Strategic & Critical Thinking: Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to understand broad business context, identify strategic opportunities for clients through data, and align BI initiatives with overall business goals.
• Advanced Problem-Solving: Mastery in diagnosing complex, often ambiguous, business problems and architecting innovative, practical, and data-driven solutions.
• Executive Communication & Presentation: Outstanding executive-level communication, presentation, negotiation, and storytelling skills; ability to influence and build consensus with senior stakeholders (including C-suite).
• Client Relationship Management & Advisory: Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, manage complex stakeholder relationships, navigate challenging client dynamics with diplomacy, and drive client satisfaction.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, mentor and develop junior team members, foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, and delegate effectively.
• Project & Program Management: Proven ability to lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex BI projects or programs, including risk management, resource allocation, and change management, ensuring successful outcomes.
• Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business processes, value chains, and performance metrics across various industries. Ability to quickly grasp client-specific business models and challenges.
• Innovation & Adaptability: A proactive and innovative mindset with the ability to anticipate future trends in BI and analytics, and adapt quickly to new technologies, tools, and client needs.

Education Qualification and Certifications required

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, Master's in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Management, or related field) is highly preferred.
• Experience:
  • 7-8 years of progressive, hands-on experience in Business Intelligence, data analytics, data warehousing, and/or data architecture.
