What you'll be doing 

Reporting to the AVP Transformation and Operational Excellence, the Director Program Delivery is accountable for providing leadership, specialized advice and integration support to senior leaders, executive management and team members and related functional areas for assigned accountabilities. Reporting to the AVP, Transformation & Operational Excellence, this individual will be responsible leading and consulting on a range of projects and initiatives in support of the Administration executive committee, often on highly sensitive or complex strategic matters.   

The Director, Administration Data Governance is accountable to the Associate Vice President, Transformation & Operational Excellence for leading a multi-faceted team of Administration and data governance subject matter experts and is accountable for the delivery of Data Governance & Management across Administration, while operating within our governance and risk appetite culture.    

As a leader in Data Governance, this role contributes to the development and execution of Administration strategies, policies, goals, and business plans as they relate to data governance.

How you'll succeed 

  • Strategic initiatives - Lead the effective end-to-end delivery of key strategic programs, projects and process improvement initiatives that will drive the overall effectiveness of the function and/or help to deliver against Administration’s strategic objectives. 

  • People leadership - Build, lead and coach an effective team that will add value and provide high quality execution of Administration strategy and deliverables across CIBC. Provide leadership and effective management of team members to influence employee commitment to the organization to the team and to their job.

  • Cross-functional relationship - Key relationships with a wide range of internal CIBC employees, teams and departments, including executives across Administration and the rest of CIBC, to motivate and influence across the organization to a common goal with or without direct authority. Partner with Administration SLT members and other team members in support of the management and identification of strategic priorities and initiatives. 

  • Accountable as Data Governance Spoke Delegate- Lead teams providing leadership and oversight of Administration data governance and management by ensuring policies and procedures are in place, maintained, operationalized, and adhered to in alignment with CIBC standards, policies, and procedures, and serving as an escalation point for data governance and data management practices where Administration Data Governance Councils require enterprise escalation.

  • Support Administration by informing members of processes, standards, policies and guidelines related to data lifecycle management and reviewing and responding to data-related issues and escalating to the Enterprise Data Governance Committee, as necessary, for oversight and resolution. Enable and standardize reconciliation practices across Administration, ensure documentation of processes and safeguard adequate segregation of duties. 

  • Develop, manage and implement data management practices to support data quality and data integrity across the Administration enterprise. Ensure that Administration data infrastructure is in place and properly maintained (i.e. data roles, critical data elements, data catalogue , authoritative sources, and data tools.
