Job Title: AI Engineer
Work Location: Client Site – Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Employment Type: On-rolls with Aptude 
Experience Required: Min 4 Years
Nationality: Open to all nationals 

Primary:

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the implementation and enhancement of the AI and analytics platform, including infrastructure-as-code setup and automation using Terraform or AWS CDK. Ensure alignment with existing cloud architecture and data infrastructure.
  2. Manage the full lifecycle of AI/ML models using the established platform—covering pre-trained model importation (if applicable), training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, inference execution, and integration of outputs into downstream applications and automation workflows.
  3. Involve in the end-to-end vendor evaluation and procurement process (e.g., RFI, RFP, vendor selection, due diligence) to Implement and adapt third-party AI solutions and assets within the GIMB local environment, ensuring alignment with organizational architectural principles, established AI governance frameworks, and relevant technical standards.
  4. Develop and/or integrate generative AI solutions, such as AI chatbots and agents with pretrained or finetuned LLM models, into operational workflows to enhance automation and user interaction.
  5. Implement or enhance the automation of core insurance operations. Specific areas include:
  6. data capture and verification from documents (e.g., using OCR and data extraction).
  7. automated adjudication, eligibility checks, and benefit calculations.
  8. fraud detection capabilities using ML and analytics.
  9. workflow automation for processes like claims assessment, payment initiation, notifications, and underwriting.
  10. Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements, and integrate AI model outputs into business processes and reporting applications.
  11. Support the implementation of AI governance framework to ensure that AI solutions adhere to ethical standards, data privacy regulations, model explainability, and responsible AI practices.
  12. Lead the development and implementation of ground truth datasets and labeling processes to ensure high-quality data for training, evaluating, and monitoring AI/ML models, including the compilation of performance metrics and statistical analysis to drive model improvement and business insights.

Skills required:

  1. 4 years and above in AI/ML engineering, data science or related fields
  2. Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks/algorithms (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Langchain)
  3. Proficiency in generative AI and LLM-related techniques (e.g., natural language processing, model fine-tuning) with familiarity in LangChain, LlamaIndex, or other LLM handling frameworks.
  4. Expertise in designing and deploying solutions on AWS or other cloud platforms
  5. Understanding of MLOps concepts (CI/CD and statistical monitoring)
  6. Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda/Fargate)
