Senior Technical Manager/ Director - Data Science and ML

Key Responsibilities:
  - Technical Leadership:

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software applications and machine learning solutions.
• Set the technical direction for projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and adherence to architectural best practices.
• Drive best practices in coding, testing, DevOps, and software quality assurance.

  - Data Science & ML Initiatives:

• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to build and deploy predictive models, recommendation systems, and other intelligent applications.
• Evaluate and implement appropriate tools, frameworks, and ML algorithms to solve business problems.

  - Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers and data scientists.
• Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and foster a high-performance team culture.
• Manage resource planning, hiring, and team scaling as needed.

  - Project & Stakeholder Management:

• Drive end-to-end project delivery, from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful execution of product and technical roadmaps.
• Communicate technical concepts and progress clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong hands-on expertise in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable experience in machine learning, data analysis, statistical modeling, and working with large-scale datasets.
• Proficiency with ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• At least 3+ years in a technical leadership or managerial role, overseeing teams and mentoring engineers.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with MLOps practices and tools.
• Knowledge of data engineering pipelines and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
