Servus is growing! We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineering Analyst in our Data and Infrastructure Department.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Data Integration & Transformation Lead, the main objective is to make substantial contributions to improving the overall maturity of the organization’s data structures, as well as their movement, scalability, and availability throughout the enterprise.

The Senior Data Engineering Analyst plays a key role in collaborating with the Data Technology, Governance, and Data Science teams to modernize our data architecture. This position involves designing and constructing data pipelines, leveraging the analyst's expertise in data management, as well as cost optimization in data storage. The Senior Data Engineering Analyst provides support for business stakeholders, data analysts, cloud infrastructure teams, and data scientists regarding various data initiatives. The individual in this role should possess self-direction and be adept at addressing the data requirements of multiple teams, systems, and products. This position is crucial in advancing our data platforms to enhance the next generation of products and services for our members.

Key Accountabilities:

      • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions and ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of data platforms.
      • Design and deliver enterprise-scale data pipelines and transformation workflows.
      • Develop and manage data transformations using the medallion architecture to deliver trusted and curated data products.
      • Design and build infrastructure for optimal ETL of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
      • Design and implement DevOps practices including CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing and deployment, and cloud resource optimization for reliable and scalable operations.
      • Establish DataOps processes such as workflow orchestration, pipeline monitoring, and cost tracking to ensure data pipeline reliability, efficiency, and alignment with business needs.
      • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver data products for BI, self-service reporting, advanced analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
      • Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modeling and assist in deploying machine learning and advanced analytics solutions.
      • Work with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve data-related technical and platform issues.
      • Ensure data quality, security, access control, and regulatory compliance in partnership with data governance, privacy, and security teams.
      • Monitor data protection controls, identify gaps, and recommend solutions in collaboration with the Data Governance, Security, Privacy, and Risk Management teams.
      • Stay current with emerging technologies and lead R&D efforts to evaluate new cloud and AI tools that deliver business value.
      • Develop and standardize reusable processes, frameworks, and components for consistent and efficient data engineering practices.
      • Build and maintain integration tools, APIs, and pipelines across the data platform ecosystem using modern programming languages and ETL tools to handle growing data volume and complexity.
      • Build analytics tools that provide actionable insights into key business performance areas such as customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
      • Lead data engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to expectations, and following DevOps methodologies.
      • Align initiatives with the strategic direction set by leadership and take ownership of execution and delivery.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
    • 10 years of hands-on experience in cloud-based data engineering, preferably in Azure environments.
    • Deep understanding of Databricks, including data ingestion, transformation, and performance tuning.
    • Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience building scalable ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, or Databricks DLT.
    • Experience with dbt Cloud as a transformation framework is a strong asset.
    • 5+ years of data modeling experience, including schema design and dimensional modeling.
    • Solid experience with CI/CD, Git-based development, and monitoring pipelines in production environments.
    • Familiarity with Power BI, machine learning workflows, and operationalizing models.
    • Strong understanding of data science, advanced analytics, and agentic AI concepts.
    • Exposure to data governance, data security, and regulatory compliance frameworks
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with both technical and business teams.
    • Demonstrated passion for innovation, standardization, and driving efficiency through data.
