The Biostatistician focuses the exploratory analysis of our clinical trials. The role will be to advise and perform the data analysis aspects of the setup, evaluation, and interpretation of exploratory endpoints from our clinical studies. These studies will involve cutting edge science and the efforts of this role will be pivotal in advancing our therapeutic capabilities.
Primary responsibilities for role:
- Serve as biostatistician for Alkahest and provide advice and guidance as needed
- Define and perform the statistical analyses of exploratory endpoints in Alkahest and other clinical studies
- Participate in the elaboration of analysis plans and clinical study report
- Closely work with the whole Data Science team to ensure seamless translation of data and methodology
- Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issue

- Ensure completeness, correctness and integrity of analyses and data sets
- Attends scientific conferences
- Participate in the elaboration of analysis plans and clinical study report
- Recognizes problems in tools/datasets and demonstrates problem-solving skills by proposing solutions
- Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select right course of action in the planning and implementation of new techniques and processes
- Engage external resources to apply cutting edge methodologies and ensure recognition in the scientific community including publications
- Explains moderately complex concepts to vendors and consultants
- Compiles, maintains, interprets and acts on results of analysis and communicates these results to supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to set and meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize resources based on project needs
- Highly capable of utilizing advanced techniques
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Solid expertise in statistics and modeling, including but not limited to linear and non-linear modeling, multivariate analysis, network analysis, machine learning, and algorithm development.
- Has considerable knowledge and full understanding of area of specialization within a professional discipline
- Proficient scripting skills in relevent applications (ie. Python and R)
- Experience with working with multiple types of biological data and computational environments
- Experience with cross-sectional and longitudinal data.
- Strong statistical programming skills in R Experience with multiple types of large-scale data including omics (RNAseq, proteomics) or imaging (structural and functional MRI) is a plus
Education: Masters in Statistics, Biostatistics, or related field
Experience: Typically 5+ years of relevant experience
Equivalency: 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
