Position Description: 

PAR is looking for a BI Solutions Architect to join our Enterprise Data & Analytics Team, reporting to the Director, Data Architecture & Engineering. PAR is an international, fast-paced, high-growth environment and our tech stack is cloud and SaaS first, with a limited on-prem footprint. Our ideal candidate will be a trusted partner for our Data & Analytics stakeholders and will support our business users in troubleshooting persistent issues and helping them adhere to best practices within the Microsoft Data stack.

The BI Solutions Architect should have a proven track record of delivering impactful analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI and the Azure data stack. This role is ideal for a data professional who thrives on transforming complex data into intuitive, executive-ready dashboards and visualizations that drive strategic decision-making. You will lead by example, mentor peers, and collaborate cross-functionally to elevate our data culture and reporting capabilities.

What We’re Looking For:

Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI and the Azure Data Stack, including Synapse and Fabric

• 8+ years of advanced SQL/Azure SQL experience (T-SQL, SSAS, stored procedures, tabular models)

• Expertise in DAX, Power BI Desktop, and building enterprise-grade dashboards and KPI scorecards

• Strong background in data engineering, including ETL/ELT development using Azure Data Factory, Power BI Dataflows, programing language (C#, SQL, etc.) and related tools

• Excel analytics (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, array formulas, power queries, slices, interactive charts, etc.)

Additional skills:

• Actively lead and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, setting a standard for collaboration and delivery

• Build collaborative relationships across departments including Sales, Finance, Logistics, Product, and IT

• Effectively communicate technical information in a way that resonates with both engineering teams and business leaders, adapting the message to the audience

• Apply strategic thinking to align BI initiatives with organizational priorities

• Use data storytelling to craft compelling narratives that influence stakeholders and drive action

• Continuous learner, innovator, and collaborator who thrives on helping people achieve more than they thought possible – together, we win as a team!

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • Proficiency with agile software development methodology

  • Current industry certification such as Fabric Engineer

  • Experience working in a (SaaS) technology company

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365/Salesforce datasets experience

Unleash your potential: What you will be doing and owning:

• Champion best practices in BI development, including design reviews, SDLC standards, and data governance

• Lead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies, especially AI capabilities within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI

• Lead the implementation of Microsoft Fabric components, (e.g., Lakehouse, Data Activator, and Real-Time Analytics,) to modernize the BI ecosystem

• Design intuitive, visually compelling dashboards and reports that prioritize clarity, usability, and accessibility for business users across varying levels of data literacy

• Drive the adoption of AI tools within the BI stack, including Power BI Copilot, Azure AI Studio, and Copilot Studio, to accelerate insight generation and reduce time-to-value

• Ensure seamless user experience by defining, documenting, and implementing consistent UI/UX standards, interactive elements, and guided navigation

• Continuously gather and incorporate user feedback to improve report usability, enhance engagement, and drive effective decision-making through data storytelling

• Collaborate with data architects and product owners to evolve data models, stored procedures, and ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise-wide reporting and AI readiness

• Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance dashboards, reports, and data models that align with business goals

• Integrate Azure Machine Learning and AutoML models into Power BI reports to deliver predictive and prescriptive analytics to business stakeholders, and operationalize ML models and surface insights through interactive dashboards

• Champion the use of natural language querying and generative AI to democratize data access and empower self-service analytics

• Translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical requirements and actionable insights

• Support data quality initiatives, including validation, cleansing, and transformation processes by assisting in data validation, clean-up, and import/export requests as needed
