We are seeking a technically proficient Product Manager, Game Systems Design to drive player facing systems design, calibrate feature & systems economics, and feature optimization across our portfolio of live, free-to-play digital collectibles apps.
Responsibilities:
- Own technical requirements, including detailed system design specifications, platform integrations, and economy modeling to achieve KPI-driven business goals.
- Collaborate closely with data science, engineering, and platform teams to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and performance of in-app economies and gamified systems.
- Design and manage complex systems leveraging Python, Excel and other tools for simulations and data modeling to balance game economies and probabilitiy-based, collectibles-driven features.
- Develop comprehensive technical specifications and design documentation, ensuring clarity for cross-functional teams including engineering, data science, and content teams.
- Continuously evaluate system performance data and metrics, optimizing for user engagement, monetization, technical performance, and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate complex technical system designs into intuitive, accessible, and compelling user experiences.
- Serve as a key liaison between product, engineering, data science, and platform teams, ensuring alignment and efficient execution of technical system initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of total relevant experience, combining:
- 3–5 years in a Product Manager or product focused PM-adjacent role (Producer, Project Manager, Analyst, etc.)
- 3–5 years in a relevant non-PM role such as Game Designer, Systems Designer, or Economy Designer for free-to-play mobile games or digital collectibles ecosystems.
- Proven expertise in game systems design, economy management, and technical system documentation.
- Demonstrated experience using advanced analytics and data science tools (e.g., Python, Looker/Tableau, Excel) to model, analyze, and optimize technical game systems.
- Ability to craft clear, impactful presentations and technical documentation for executive and engineering audiences.
- Passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences through technical innovation and committed to continual enhancement based on user feedback, technical metrics, and business goals.
- Enthusiasm and familiarity with digital collectibles, trading cards, and gaming culture.
In Los Angeles, the salary range for this position is $144,000 - $180,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. In New York City, the salary range is $160,000 - $200,000. These salary ranges are specific to Los Angeles or NYC and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
