Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Data Governance Platform Lead to drive the evolution and adoption of our data governance capabilities. This critical role will be responsible for leading the strategic implementation and ongoing optimization of our Informatica data governance suite of tools (data catalog/data quality/data marketplace/reference data), ensuring the highest standards of data quality, discoverability, and usability across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of data governance principles, strong technical acumen in Data Governance tools (preferably experience with Informatica), and proven ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, data stewards, and senior leadership. We're especially interested in candidates who have experience in enabling key automations to streamline and enhance our data governance processes.
Responsibilities
- Data Governance Platform Leadership: Serve as the primary subject matter expert and lead for our Data Governance platform, including Data Catalog, Data Quality and Data Marketplace.
- Strategic Road mapping & Implementation: Drive and deliver the strategic roadmap for the Informatica data governance platform, aligning with overall data strategy and business objectives. Lead the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of new features and functionalities within the Informatica suite.
- Data Catalog & Discovery: Drive the expansion and enrichment of the enterprise data catalog, ensuring comprehensive metadata capture, lineage tracking, and intuitive search capabilities to facilitate data discovery and understanding.
- Data Quality Management: Drive and mature data quality processes utilizing Informatica Cloud Data Quality. Support/enhance rule automation capabilities, lead technical data quality rule creation, enable data quality scorecards using BI tools (Power BI) and support/enhance automated monitoring.
- Data Marketplace Development: Oversee the development and operationalization of an internal data marketplace, enabling secure and efficient access to curated, high-quality data assets for business users.
- Data Insights & Visualization: Enable comprehensive understanding of data quality, metadata cataloging, and data governance metrics by supporting the creation and maintenance of dashboards using BI tools.
- Deliver Efficiencies: Design, develop, and implement automations to streamline repetitive data governance tasks, such as metadata definitions, data quality rule creation, and access request workflows. Explore and leverage AI/Machine Learning capabilities within Informatica or integrated tools to enhance areas such as data classifications and Data Quality to automatically identify and resolve issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Collaborate extensively with data owners, data stewards, business users, IT teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, communicate progress, and drive adoption of data governance initiatives. Present complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage data governance platform initiatives, including planning, resource allocation and successful delivery.
- Technical Integration & Architecture: Possess a strong technical understanding of data integration patterns, ETL/ELT processes, and API integrations. Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to ensure seamless integration of data governance tools within the broader data ecosystem.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of data governance excellence. Promote best practices for data cataloging, quality, and consumption.
- Issue Resolution & Support: Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues related to the Informatica data governance platform, working with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely resolution.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
- Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, or data architecture roles, with a significant focus on data governance platform leadership.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica Data Governance tools - MUST, preferably with experience using the IDMC platform (SaaS based) offering, including:
- Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC/AXON/CDGC)
- Informatica Data Quality (IDQ/CDQ)
- Experience with Data Marketplace concepts and implementation (CDMP)
- Demonstrated experience in building automations for data governance processes using scripting languages (e.g., SQL), workflow orchestration tools, or Informatica capabilities.
- Understanding and practical experience with AI/Machine Learning concepts as applied to data governance, such as automated data classification, intelligent tagging, or predictive data quality.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex data governance initiatives.
- Experience leading large scale projects with experience in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Technical understanding of data integration patterns (ETL/ELT, APIs), data lakes, and database technologies.
- Experience with metadata management, data lineage, and glossary development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Certifications in Informatica Data Governance products.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, etc).
- Experience with other data governance or data management tools.
