Role Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Director, this role drives cloud modernization while owning the end-to-end development of data products—from design through documentation and support—focusing on automating repetitive analytical processes for bank professionals, including proven applications of AI and Generative AI technologies.

What you'll do:

  • Support data modernization strategy and roadmap execution - Contribute to the development of data modernization and automation strategy, supporting the creation and execution of the data enablement roadmap with emphasis on automating manual processes through various technologies. Ensure proper documentation and communication for organizational alignment while providing analytical insights on implications for risk management and business operations.
  • Design and build automated data products - Develop solutions to automate data processing workflows, report generation, and repetitive analytical tasks currently performed manually. Build intelligent data products that enable Risk professionals to efficiently access and analyze complex datasets, applying proven AI techniques where appropriate.
  • Mentor and enable the broader data team - Guide data scientists and analysts on applying data engineering best practices, automation techniques, and emerging technologies (including AI where appropriate) to solve analytical and operational problems, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Maintain strategic relationships across the organization - Develop and maintain close relationships with data product users, technology managers, and technology partners to ensure solutions meet expectations, manage data requests, and enable seamless integration and collaboration on data initiatives.
  • Own data governance initiatives - Lead data governance initiatives including SOX compliance and metadata management. Support regulatory compliance initiatives as directed for the Analytics group, actively participating in Data Governance Office and Business Compliance programs to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

  •  5+ years of progressive experience in data and analytics with demonstrated management experience and solid technical background in data projects, preferably in a financial service/banking setting. University degree (undergraduate) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Analytics.
  • Domain expertise in data solutions with intermediate to advanced knowledge in one or more areas: AI-powered data products, business intelligence/reporting, data warehouse/data mart design, data strategy and transformation. Experience with solution design and data architecture required.
  • Strong technical foundation including proficiency with: Python, Google Big Query, Apache Spark, SQL and relational databases, ETL technologies, Tableau, UML, data governance tools, metadata management platforms, and automation frameworks. Experience with AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI API, Vertex AI) is an asset. Understanding of data science and advanced analytics concepts.
  • Proven automation experience demonstrating real-world business problem solving through process automation, workflow optimization, or automated reporting. Experience with AI/ML applications including Generative AI and LLMs is highly desirable
  • Excellent professional skills including ability to communicate complex problems verbally, in writing, or via presentations; project management know-how with leadership and business acumen; highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, garner consensus, and build productive relationships across technical and business teams.
