Danfoss is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Center Solutions team. You will leverage advanced analytical techniques and machine learning to extract valuable insights from diverse data sources, driving improvements in data center efficiency, optimization, and the development of next-generation cooling solutions. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills

 

In this role, you will work both with your individual tasks and responsibilities as well as with managing and owning several digital projects. The position requires a collaborative and flexible approach, as you will be working individually on projects, but at the same time collaborating a lot in cross-functional teams with software developers, external partners and other stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Develop and implement advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to address critical business challenges within the data center domain. Examples include: predictive maintenance, capacity planning, energy optimization, and fault diagnostics.
  • Work closely with engineering and product teams to define analytical problems, identify appropriate data sources, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Collect, clean, and prepare large datasets for analysis using various data manipulation techniques and tools.
  • Develop and deploy machine learning models using appropriate programming languages (e.g., Python) and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Evaluate the performance of models and algorithms, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.
  • Create visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and data center technologies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and methodologies for data science within Danfoss.

What We're Looking For

 

This role requires a university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in data analytics. Additionally, proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and their implementation in project management is essential.

In addition to that, we are looking out for the following:  

  • Strong proficiency in Python, including experience with relevant data science libraries (e.g., tensorflow, pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong understanding of dynamic modelling. Statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and model evaluation techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with data center cooling technologies is a plus.
