What you will do-
The BI Developer will play a pivotal role in the Enterprise Data Team. This position will be laser focused on supporting the organizationâs ability to make informed business decisions. They will develop and maintain complex semantic models, create advanced DAX calculations, and collaborate with end users to deploy analytics solutions optimized for performance, scalability and usability. This role will build a bridge between raw data and business requirements, developing ways to empower end users to make informed decisions through insightful and interactive tools & visualizations.
How will you do it-
Collaborate with members from all organizational levels of the company to contribute innovative ideas on developing & deploying leading-edge technologies, solutions, and platforms in support of Aspenâs strategic operational objectives:
- Use business intelligence and visualization software (such as PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.) to empower non-technical, internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting
- Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, project managers, and other IT professionals to understand business needs, translate them into technical solutions, execute technical builds, and provide ongoing support for BI tools and platforms.
- Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use tools provided to them
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and security within analytics solutions developed
- Identify and resolve issues related to data connectivity, data models, and visualizations
- Identify and troubleshoot issues within the BI solution portfolio - optimize structure & performance of data models and reporting systems, and pro-actively fix issues as identified
Contribute to building Aspenâs in-house enterprise data analysis expertise using business intelligence applications:
- Leverage previous experience to analyze data sets and identify trends and patterns that can be used to improve business performance
- Provide complex analysis, conceptualize, design, implement and develop solutions for critical BI use cases
- Keep up to date with the latest platforms, skills, features, and best practices in the business intelligence industry
- Communicate insights and recommendations to internal IT leadership through clear and compelling demonstrations, presentations, and reports

Why you are right for the job-
- Minimum of a Bachelorâs Degree in related field such as Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field is required
- 3+ years of experience with analytics systems and processes within a manufacturing company is required
- Willingness to occasionally travel to Aspenâs various operational locations in order to directly engage with the business stakeholders is required
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends and patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions
- A curious, action-oriented individual that is able to act as an agent of change
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to self-direct, prioritize, and multi-task.
- Experience with business intelligence related technical skills and concepts, such as SQL, Python, & other querying languages, DAX, ETL processes, data warehousing, data modeling techniques, data analytics, data visualization, and potentially Python or R, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Expertise leveraging Microsoft tools (Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Power Query) preferred
- Knowledge of Artifical Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Intelligent User Interfaces (IUI) is highly valuable
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence, persuade, and motivate employees at all levels
