Danfoss is seeking a highly skilled Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic Data Center Solutions team. You will design, build, and maintain the robust data infrastructure supporting our Data Center Solutions business. This role is critical for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data assets. You will possess a strong understanding of database systems, cloud technologies, and data pipeline architectures. You will work collaboratively with data scientists, IoT engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.
In this role, you will work both with your individual tasks and responsibilities as well as with managing and owning several digital projects. The position requires a collaborative and flexible approach, as you will be working individually on projects, but at the same time collaborating a lot in cross-functional teams with software developers, external partners and other stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using various technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, cloud-based ETL services). Specify preferred technologies if applicable (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
- Develop and maintain databases (SQL and NoSQL) ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Specify preferred database technologies if applicable (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS RDS).
- Implement and manage data storage solutions (e.g., cloud storage, on-premise storage). Specify preferred solutions if applicable (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage).
- Monitor and optimize data infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Collaborate with data scientists, frontend, IoT, and analysts to understand their data needs and provide effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure components.
- Participate in on-call rotation for incident response and resolution.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in data infrastructure.
- Contribute to the development of data infrastructure standards and procedures.
What We're Looking For
This role requires a university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in data analytics. Additionally, proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and their implementation in project management is essential.
In addition to that, we are looking out for the following:
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with cloud-based data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with data pipeline development and management tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Spark).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of data security and compliance principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with data center cooling technologies is a plus.
