(Senior) Machine Learning Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

We’re looking for a (Senior) ML Backend Engineer to join our AI & Analytics team. You will work closely with data scientists, data engineers and analysts to build scalable backend services that power our automation and analytics solutions. 

Your Mission

• Design, build, and operate backend services for our ML/AI solutions in an event-driven architecture (EDA/ECST). 
• Take ownership of projectsand align technical integrations and infrastructure across teams, driving continuous improvement and reliability. 
• Contribute to evolving our data platform through integration with existing systems and adoption of new technologies. 
• Collaborate with your team to define and uphold software engineering best practices and maintain high code quality. 
• Share your knowledge across your team and the product development unit to positively impact all software engineers. 
• Work closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to ensure that solutions meet stakeholder requirements. 

Your Skills

• You have a degree in computer science, data science, or a related field. 
• You bring solid expertise in backend, ML, or data engineering, with experience building and maintaining production systems. While numbers aren’t everything, this level of skill typically comes with at least 3 years of professional experience in high-impact projects. 
• You are proficient in Python – our primary language for backend services. Experience with SQL is a plus. 
• You have hands-on experience building data pipelines and deploying ML models and integrating LLMs. 
• You are comfortable working with cloud platforms. We use Azure and AWS. 
• Your entrepreneurial mindset shapes the way you take initiative, embrace feedback, and take full ownership of your projects. 
• Your passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and drive for continuous improvement sets you apart. 
• Teamwork is essential to you, and your open, sociable attitude makes you thrive in collaborative environments.
