Your Role at KIK
Senior Data Visualization Developer reports to the IT Data Director. In this role, you are a part of the KIK Custom Products Information Systems team.
As a Senior Data Visualization Developer, you’ll bring together deep business reporting experience and technical execution to help KIK Custom Products and its teams make smarter, faster decisions. This hybrid role blends BI reporting, legacy system support, and modern data engineering to maintain continuity while advancing the company’s analytics maturity.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Visualization Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Qlik Sense applications and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data visualization, data modeling, scripting, and managing QVD layers, as well as experience organizing and optimizing Qlik Cloud environments (Data Spaces, Data Source Spaces, and App Spaces).
This individual will play a key role in transforming business requirements into scalable analytics solutions and will serve as a subject matter expert for Qlik best practices across development, architecture, and performance optimization.
We are looking for this person to be located in Georgia or Florida.
What You’ll Be Doing
Design, develop, and maintain Qlik Sense dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using best practices in scripting and data modeling.
Manage Qlik Cloud environments including QVD lifecycle, Data Spaces, Data Source Spaces, and App Spaces.
Extract and transform data from various sources (SQL Server, Oracle, JDE, Excel, flat files, etc.) into optimized QVD layers.
Architect and implement scalable data models for high-performance reporting.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into interactive visualizations and KPIs.
Act as a Qlik SME, mentoring junior developers and advising on dashboard design and platform architecture.
Administer Qlik Sense QMC tasks, triggers, and deployments.
Work closely with infrastructure teams on Qlik Sense server architecture and performance tuning.
Ensure data governance, access control, and security compliance across the Qlik environment.
Support dashboard UX best practices including layout, color schemes, and interactive design.
Leverage Qlik mashups, extensions, JavaScript/HTML for enhanced custom solutions (preferred).
Monitor and improve system and dashboard performance through ongoing tuning and optimization
Work closely with business and technical teams to transform complex data into actionable insights.
Monitor data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integrity to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Support KPI tracking and business metrics analysis to enhance decision-making.
Develop front-end UI components for data visualization dashboards.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5 or more years of experience in Business Intelligence and Reporting.
- 4 or more years of hands-on experience with QlikView and Qlik Sense, including scripting, data modeling, and dashboard development.
- Strong experience in managing QVD layers, Data Source Spaces, Data Spaces, and App Spaces within Qlik Sense Cloud.
- Solid understanding of Qlik Sense architecture, server configuration, and QMC administration.
- Experience with data visualization best practices, user experience, and dashboard storytelling.
- Proficiency in performance tuning of BI tools and large-scale dashboards.
- Knowledge of Qlik mashups, extension objects, JavaScript, and HTML is a plus.
- Background working with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems in finance, supply chain, or sales domains.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.
