General Summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Data Engineer to support the development of tools and processes that integrate data to drive business decisions and efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have moderate experience with data engineering projects and demonstrate proficiency in data technologies. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Grand Rapids, MI.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains data pipelines to acquire, cleanse, transform, and publish data from various sources.

  • Builds and maintains data sets to meet business requirements.

  • Collaborates with developers, IT infrastructure, and leadership to ensure data solutions are accurate and reliable.

  • Follows coding standards and best practices to ensure efficient and reusable components.

  • Participates in process improvement initiatives and contributes to system design.

  • Supports both front-end and back-end development using .NET, C#, and modern frameworks.

  • Works with product owners and developers to define requirements and deliverables.

  • Troubleshoots and debugs applications to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Writes clean, maintainable code and participates in code reviews.

  • Keeps current with industry trends and technologies to support innovative solutions.

Job Specifications

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark, SQL/SparkSQL.

  • Experience with C# and object-oriented programming.

  • Preferred experience with Databricks.

Skills and Abilities

Working Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable.  Requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time. Some traveling is required.
