[What the role is]

The Senior Manager (Mentoring and Data Management)’s primary roles are to:

1. support teams in the Office of Student Support by analysing student data to improve program effectiveness and enhance student outcomes. The ideal candidate will transform raw data into actionable insights that help shape strategies for student engagement, retention, and success

2. oversee the administration of the RP’s Mentoring Framework, which involves working with RP’s academic schools on the administration and coordination of the support RP students receive from their academic mentors, and the process through which they transit to internships and industry mentoring opportunities when they graduate.

[What you will be working on]

Data Management:

  • Oversee the consolidation and analysis of all student datasets in the Office of Student Support, to provide stakeholders with insightful analytics on student support trends, identify students who may require intervention support and to inform policy decisions
  • Use statistical techniques and tools to perform analysis and analytics. (e.g. with the use of Power BI, Power Query, R (programming language), etc.)
  • Support data governance and ensure compliance with data privacy policies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve data processes and analytics capabilities.

Mentoring:

  • Oversee the administration of all mentoring functions in RP, including the scheduling of engagement sessions, resourcing of mentors, and planning for mentor training programmes
  • Work with various stakeholders to gather feedback for the annual review of the RP Mentoring Framework
  • Coordinate the administration of the RP Outstanding Mentor Award
  • Engage with community organizations to source for mentoring programmes and/or opportunities that complement RP’s mentoring efforts
  • Lead the team overseeing the RP internship program and Internship Placement System to ensure alignment with the institution’s policies and academic goals
  • Evaluate and analyse the internship program’s effectiveness, monitor quality and prepare reports highlighting key insights and areas for improvement.
  • Engage employers to seek quality Short-Term Work Attachment opportunities for students.

[What we are looking for]

  • Relevant academic qualifications with at least 8 years of work experience (prior work experience in the area of student support and/or education research would be an advantage)
  • IT savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office and proficient with large data sets (data analytics, digitalisation and programming skills would be an advantage)
  • Experience with predictive analytics to identify students at risk.
  • Must be organized, meticulous, results-focused, proactive and resourceful; able to work independently and in a team, multi-task and work effectively under pressure during peak periods
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
