Internship Task
Threat modeling is a critical but time-consuming and expertise-driven process that often relies on manual effort, making it difficult to scale and prone to inconsistencies across development teams. To address these challenges, we are launching an internship focused on exploring how AI can automate and enhance threat modeling, enabling faster, more consistent, and scalable security practices.
The goal is to develop a solution (application, workflow, agent, ...) that receives technical input (technical description, product requirements, architecture, ...) and uses large language models to build a structured threat model.
- Evaluate multiple LLMs to identify the pros and cons of each one of them, some of the factors to consider include efficiency, number of false positives, ease of use and cost.
- Shortlist one of them and build up the application, workflow, agent, ... on top of it.
The project:
- requires some knowledge on Barco’s threat modeling process, and common methodologies (such as STRIDE)
- involves some case studies on the current AI/LLM landscape and potential solutions
- involves some exploration on how AI can automate or assist with threat identification, risk assessments, and threat mitigation
- requires some knowledge on software development to develop the solution and interface with external APIs
Qualifications
- Software development skills
- Interest in cybersecurity and AI
- Students in Informatics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science
- On-site internship in Kortrijk, Belgium
