Inmar is seeking a Senior Manager, Data Engineering to lead a high-performing team in building and optimizing the data platforms that power our most critical business decisions. This role combines strategic, technical, and operational leadership with a strong emphasis on team development, platform scalability, and alignment to company values. You will drive innovation and foster a culture of continuous learning while delivering customer centric data solutions at scale.

Platform Engineering Leadership

  • Drive a customer-first mindset across service functions and embed continuous improvement into team practices.

  • Maintain and evolve platform engineering standards, reporting frameworks, and knowledge assets.

  • Govern technical changes with transparency, and lead programs focused on service reliability and learning.

  • Lead recruitment, coaching, and performance development efforts while fostering a high-challenge, high-support culture—setting clear expectations, recognizing strengths, and championing individual growth.

  • Ensure scalable systems and processes are in place to protect data, network access, and backups; lead operational audits and improvements.

  • Oversee data security, vendor relationships, and budget management to align with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Technical Oversight (65%)

  • Ensure secure IT asset management and mentor the team on technical best practices.

  • Lead resolution of complex issues through strategic, root-cause analysis and forward-focused solutions that prevent recurrence.

  • Break down silos through strong cross-functional collaboration, aligning stakeholders and inviting diverse perspectives to challenge assumptions and co-create solutions.

  • Optimize architecture and service design using a systems-thinking approach; leverage key metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Guide data reporting and strategy to deliver business value, partnering with leadership to translate goals into actionable data platform initiatives.

  • Champion agile delivery, user-centric design, and iterative improvement across all technical activities.

  • Remove barriers and model a customer-first mindset at every layer of team operations.

Team & Operational Management (35%)

  • Coach and mentor team members through structured feedback and development, fostering a psychologically safe, accountable culture rooted in trust and continuous learning.

  • Oversee resource planning and project delivery, empowering team members by distributing decision-making authority and encouraging ownership at all levels.

  • Manage core people processes—including performance reviews, onboarding, and promotions—while partnering with HR on employee relations, conflict resolution, and other sensitive matters.

  • Act as liaison between leadership and execution teams; represent the group in interdepartmental initiatives.

  • Prepare and present recurring team reports (e.g., KPIs, dashboards, strategic updates) for leadership.

  • Maintain consistency across documentation, templates, SOPs, team standards, and best practices to support operational clarity, efficiency, and alignment with Inmar’s standards.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 10+ years in senior or lead platform, data, or software engineering roles, with proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams of 5+ members across multiple time zones

  • Expertise in designing, building and optimizing big data pipelines, architecture, and cloud-native solutions

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and/or Scala

  • Deep experience with Google Cloud (preferred), with additional proficiency in AWS and Azure

  • Hands-on experience with GCP tools: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, DataStream, Datafusion, Dataprep, Cloud Storage, Composer, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Postgres, SQL Server, Cassandra)

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow

  • Proven ability to lead Agile teams and translate technical insight into business value

  • Strong collaboration skills with experience leading cross-functional teams in dynamic environments

  • Experienced in leading root cause analyses and applying insights to improve systems, drive data strategy, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform

  • Hands-on with Google Cloud Build and Cloud Run for CI/CD and serverless deployment

  • Experience with AI/ML, including Vertex AI and AI-driven data enrichment, automation or analytics

  • Exposure to ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud ERP, SAP, or Salesforce

  • Familiarity with dbt, Iceberg, and data federation/querying tools like Starburst or Trino

  • Familiarity with collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub
