Scythe Robotics is seeking an experienced Field technician to join our team to keep our customers mowing all day, every day.

You'll be responsible for vehicle troubleshooting, repair, and customer vehicle health at Scythe. You will work closely with our engineering and customer operations teams to keep our vehicles operating in the customer’s hands.  Please note that Scythe is hiring for this role in Atlanta, GA or Ft. Pierce, FL.

Some details about this position:

• This is a hybrid (in-office/travel) role based out of our Fort Pierce, FL or Atlanta, GA location and servicing the Southeast US. 
• The coverage area will likely expand as we continue to deploy in new areas. 
• Travel to our customer sites across the US, Colorado HQ, and satellite facilities will be required for this position for up to 50% of the calendar year.
• A driver motor vehicle record (MVR) and a passing medical DOT evaluation will be required as part of the hiring process.

What you’ll do at Scythe:  

• Maintain our large fleet of autonomous vehicles including predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance.
• Actively monitor our entire fleet using live data streaming from the vehicles.
• Recover vehicles to optimize customer's uptime should a vehicle in the field experience a failure.
• Follow standard work procedures for maintenance activities and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion according to defined schedules.
• Hands on support to troubleshoot, establish root cause, and perform the various types of maintenance activities required to keep the fleet healthy.

Basic requirements: 

• 3+ years of professional hands on experience in relevant field 
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnosis and failure modes 
• Strong knowledge of electrical fundamentals, theory and diagnostics
• Based in Atlanta, GA or Fort Pierce, FL.

Preferred Requirements:

• Well-rounded mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills with experience working outdoors in adverse conditions
• Background in building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems such as PCBAs, actuators, GPS systems, industrial automation, and similar technologies
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and apply them in practical troubleshooting scenarios
  Proficiency with diagnostic tools, including oscilloscopes, voltmeters, precision inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.), and software monitoring programs
• Experience troubleshooting electric or hybrid vehicles and performing moderate to advanced PCBA or electrical diagnostics
• Field Service experience, including travel to customer locations for on-site troubleshooting and repairs
• Familiarity with MES/ERP platforms in a Field Service or Field Engineering capacity

Scythe is a total compensation company, which provides employees a comprehensive salary, equity, and benefit package. However, only the minimum salary amounts are listed here. Scythe carefully considers various compensation factors, including education, years of experience, competencies, and other relevant business considerations. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary along with your compensation mode preferences. The Field Robotics Technician position has an expected minimum hourly rate of $28.00. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Equity and benefits packages are NOT included in this estimate.
