Your Mission

At ICEYE, our Change Detection product already delivers critical insights on hurricane damage to clients. We are now seeking a senior software engineer to join our team and help build the future of our change detection product.

Your mission is to contribute to the next evolution of the product, where we transition from analyzing wind damage to analyzing damage and changes caused by other natural catastrophes, such as earthquakes and tsunamis, and understanding other natural and man-made changes. As an integral part of the team, you will be a key contributor, solving complex scaling challenges and seeing your work have a direct, positive impact on the world.

Why ICEYE?

Our Mission: We are the global leader in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite operations, owning the world's largest constellation. Our vision is to become the global source of truth in Earth Observation. We provide data at any time, in any weather, to help public and private sector actors make critical decisions when they matter most.

What We Offer You:

  • Unparalleled Impact: You won't just be scaling a product; you'll be scaling a solution that makes civil societies more resilient, improves disaster response, and mitigates the impact of natural disasters.
  • Aligned Technical Autonomy & Ownership: You will have the autonomy to make significant technical contributions and will be a key voice in the team's technical decisions.
  • A World-Class, Collaborative Team: Work alongside brilliant, mission-driven experts in SAR technology, data science, machine learning, software & data engineering, and more in a tight-knit, innovative environment.
  • Career Growth & Mastery: We are committed to your development. We provide dedicated resources for courses, conferences, and training to ensure you are always learning and growing.

What You Will Own & Drive (Key Responsibilities)

  • Build Scalable Foundations: Contribute to the design and development of the core foundation for the Change Detection product as it scales to new domains.
  • Develop Reusable Components: Ensure the team builds reusable parts that can be used to compose ways to analyze other perils using the same general change detection foundation.
  • Contribute with Excellence: Execute on the product roadmap, championing best-in-class engineering practices for quality, security, and operational resilience.
  • Problem Solving: Translate complex product requirements into clear and effective technical solutions, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Collaborate to Win: Be a strong team player and technical partner to other engineers and the team’s tech lead. Foster strong connections within the team and outside with other engineers in our Product Engineering department.

The Experience and Skills You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a Product Team, with a track record of delivering and scaling complex software products.
  • Strong software design and development skills in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Deep, hands-on proficiency in Python and expertise in geospatial programming and associated libraries (e.g., GDAL, Rasterio, GeoPandas).
  • Expertise in modern software engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD practices, including containerization with Docker.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to break down complex, abstract problems into actionable plans.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Argo Workflows & DataDog.
  • Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Machine Learning pipelines or MLOps in production environments.
  • A background in or passion for Earth Observation, remote sensing, or data-intensive scientific applications.

Benefits

  • A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
  • An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
  • Occupational healthcare, occupational and accident insurance
  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
  • A wide variety of the best coffee, tea, snacks, and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
