Job Responsibilities:

• Data engineering & technical skills. State-of-the-art expertise designing & developing solutions for Data, Cloud & AI Governance.
• Contribute to the required Solutions for enabling Data, Cloud & AI Governance. Use your data engineering expertise plus FS domain & functional knowledge, problem solving skills and independent thinking to create Nomura’s Data, Cloud & AI Governance Solutions.
• Be a team player & an individual contributor.  Work with Chief Data Office (CDO) and other business function people as part of larger deliveries, as well as being able to work independently or in small teams to continuously deliver business value for Chief Data Office (CDO).
• Risk and control mindset: Conversant with Data, Cloud and AI risks and ability to interpret policies and frameworks for governance. Good understanding of responsible AI development and emerging risks of Generative AI.

Qualification & Core Skills requirement:

• Preferred bachelors or master’s in computer science, Statistics or similar or at least a 4-year bachelor’s degree
• Proficiency with SQL (MySQL, Postgres, Teradata, etc.).
• Experience with data processing tools and technologies (ETL tools, Python etc.)
• Good understanding of fundamental data concepts (data modelling, data pipelines, data quality, lineage etc.) and data warehousing methodologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS , snowflake etc.) is an added advantage
• Understanding FS industry fundamentals and business problems to find new ways to leverage data.
• Intellectual curiosity to solve data driven problems.
• Able to collaborate / virtually manage multi-cultural, multi-disciplined, globally dispersed teams.
• Strong communication skills to be able to explain highly technical problems in simple layman form.
• Ability to work independently with guidance from senior members
• Knowledge of SDLC standards, including data integration, application security, and scalable design.
