We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Principal Software Engineer with a strong background in GenAI to join our Health ; Wellness team. In this crucial role, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions, focusing on AI and machine learning technologies.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Pharmacy and Optical business and product partners, to understand how we can leverage AI to enhance customer engagement, improve associate productivity, or bring in operational efficiencies.

About Team:
Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

This is a vital role with significant growth prospect. You will have work to do from day one and you will be counted on to create opportunities that align with the overall organizational goals.
Some of this role key responsibilities are but not limited to:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex machine learning solutions thatdrive business results.

• Mentor junior team members byproviding guidance and support to achieve their full potential and improve team efficiency.

• Develop and maintain SDLCprocesses and best practices- setting and enforcing high standards for quality, reliability, and security in deployed machine learning solutions.

• Work cross-functionally withbusiness, product, data science, front-end engineering, Java Backend engineering and data engineering teams to ensure alignment and achieve business goals.

• Effectively communicatetechnical work to senior/executive leaders inboth technical and non-technical settings.

• Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML technologies and trend - acting as a thoughtleader forGenAI/ML Engineering within the organization and in the broader technical community.

What you'll bring:

Some of the skills needed for this role are but not limited to:

• Deep knowledge and experience in building complex, large-scale, mission-critical machine learning applicationswith microservice architecture in Kubernetes.

• Proven programming skills using standard ML tools suchas Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, and related framework and libraries.

• Highly resourceful and methodical in solution/architecture/API/codebase design andability to translate product requirement into engineering blueprint.

• Experience with commonML model serving framework, especially for NLPmodels/applications. Familiarity with GenAI/LLMs and related tooling ecosystem a plus.

• Experience developing and maintainingSDLC processes and best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, performance optimization, and model monitoring.

• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize requirements across multiple domains and influence stakeholders/peer teams for strategic alignment.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to approach problems in a logical and systematic manner
