Position Summary...

Principal Product Manager – GenAI Platform

About the Platform

Walmart’s Enterprise GenAI Platform connects developers, associates, and customers to the right AI agent across any portal or application. It powers daily conversations for our 2.1 million associates and is the foundation for next-generation, associate-facing experiences. The platform provides secure model hosting, agent orchestration, personalization, observability, and a unified front-end that makes AI assistance available wherever work happens.

As a Principal Product Manager- GenAI Platform you will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap that enable Walmart's AI agents to onboard, register, and safely deploy AI agents at global scale. This is a high-impact, high visibility individual-contributor role within the Global People organization.

What you'll do...

Key Responsibilities

Developer & Agent Onboarding

• Self-service SDK/CLI, documentation, and console so new agents reach production in days, not weeks.

• Central agent registry with versioning, metadata, and automated policy checks.

• Launch-readiness reviews and guardrails for privacy, security, and brand compliance.

Core Platform Capabilities

• Personalization services (profile, context, embeddings) for associate-specific experiences.

• Security and privacy controls meeting international and emerging AI-regulation standards.

• Full-stack observability—prompt tracing, metrics, red-team tooling, and incident workflows.

• Shared “platform agents” reusable by any downstream agent.

Unified Front-End Experience

• AI UI components for web, mobile, and voice surfaces with consistent look-and-feel.

• Roadmap prioritization and stakeholdering across Walmart enterprise functions and segments.

• Quality control and testing frameworks for UX.

Product Strategy & Leadership

• Multi-year OKRs, funding plans, and executive communications.

• Tight collaboration with research to operationalize new LLM and agent breakthroughs.

• Developer-community programs—office hours, hackathons, and launch forums.

• Mentorship of PM peers and influence across engineering, design, security, and legal.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years product management (or equivalent) with 4+ years on platform-scale or developer-focused products.

  • Proven track record delivering AI/ML platforms—model serving, orchestration frameworks, or agent tooling.

  • Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, evaluation pipelines, and safety techniques.

  • Technical depth: able to discuss API design, data architecture, and cloud trade-offs (Azure, GCP, AWS).

  • Data-driven mindset; comfortable querying logs, dashboards, or notebooks to define and track metrics.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; experienced presenting to VP/C-suite audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching developer ecosystems (SDKs, CLIs, portal marketplaces) or contributing to open-source AI tools.

  • Familiarity with agent-orchestration stacks such as LangChain or Semantic Kernel.

  • Background in HR/HCM or large-workforce enablement products.

  • MBA or advanced technical degree (CS, Engineering, Data Science).
